What is Diwali and why is it celebrated?

Day 1: Dhanteras- People clean their homes and buy new utensils, gold, silver, and clothes.

Day 2: Naraka Chaturdasi- People wake up early in the morning and take bath before sunrise, then new cloths are worn on this day.

Day 3: Diwali- The most important day. People do Lakshmi puja in the evening for the goodness of health, wealth, prosperity and fortune. To bring prosperity, people light the lamps, diyas, and candles at every corner in the house.

Day 4: Goverdhan Puja and Annakut- People make Goverdhan Maharaja by cow dung in their houses and worship them in the evening. It is celebrated as the day when Krishna defeated Indra Dev.

Day 5: Bhai Dooj- on this auspicious day, sister pray for long and happy lives for their brother and share the love for each other with meals and gifts.
